Judges Choice
Rules:
-
Fill out a registration form and turn it in
with the cake at the designated time on the day of the event. Judging
is first, so late arrivals risk missing this portion.
-
Cakes must be baked and decorated by the Cub
Scout with parent or guardian
assistance.
-
The Scout should take an active role in the
process, as much as reasonably possible, i.e. designing, measuring, pouring,
mixing, & decorating.
-
The Scout must help with the clean-up!!!!
-
The cake and all
decorations must be
completely edible: No plastic, wax, wood (this includes toothpicks), or any other inedible
materials are allowed as part of the cake. (HINT: you may use celery, carrots
anything edible for trees, canoes etc...)
Please list the ingredients on a registration form, this will be
displayed with the cake.
-
Cake and icing mixes are allowed; however, it has been past contestants'
experience that the more from scratch you make it the messier it can get. And
the messier it gets, the more fun you have doing it. In the past candy,
sprinkles, licorice, etc. have been used creatively to make some great cakes.
-
Cakes must be placed on a "give-away” tray or board as they might not be
returned after the auction.
-
After the judging and awarding of the prize ribbons, all cakes will be
auctioned off to the highest bidder. The spirit of the auction is meant to be
FUN and involve the Cubs.
-
For those participants who wish to have their cakes
judged, but not placed on
auction, a $12.50 donation is requested. If you do not wish to sell the
cake, write "Not for Sale" on the registration form.
**Any
questions regarding the contest and auction should be addressed to your Pack
Leaders.
